Placemats done in cotton with orlon warp so that the fringes will look good a long time without fraying. |
Below are photos are of "rag" placemats (yardage that is washed, dried, ironed and cut into 1 inch strips and then folded in two and ironed again - yes it takes hours! - and then woven.)

These are Summer and Winter placemats in cotton (sorry, the colours do not show up correctly.) I was into S & W in a big way and spent a lot of time varying the pattern by varying the treadling - not that you can see that on here! |
