Size To fit 36 to 38 inch bust (Finished measurement 40", Length 2.5' for rib, 11.75 from rib to underarms, 8.5" from underarms to cable across neck, cable across neck 2' deep. Cables around the sleeve are 1.5' wide. )
Yarn 4 balls of Twilley's Capricorn Bulky

(100 gram balls) or whatever yarn

will match the tension
Gauge 6 sts and 8.5 rows to 5 cm (2 inches)

at Tension 10
Note: Cable pieces are knit separately and attached to top of front and back and around each armhole.

BACK AND FRONT ALIKE

Cast on 61 sts in rib 1X1. Rib 10 rows on Tension 8. Transfer stitches on ribber to main bed.RC 000 - Tension 10. Work 50 rows and place markers for sleeve caps. Continue until RC shows 86 rows. Cast off.

CABLE FOR SHOULDERS - make two

Cast on 10 sts on Tension 10. Knit 6 rows. *Drop 2nd and 9th stitches and with latch tool turn them to knit stitches. On centre 6 stitches do a 3:3 cable. * Knit 10 rows and repeat * to * (watch that cable twists in the same direction each time). Continue alternating 10 rows and cables until you have 8 cables in all. Knit 6 more rows and cast off.

CABLE FOR ARMHOLES - make two

Cast on 10 sts on Tension 6. Knit 6 rows - make cable - change to Tension 8. Knit 10 rows - make cable - change to Tension 10. Continue alternating 10 rows and cables until you have 8 cables - change to Tension 8. Knit 10 rows - make cable - change to Tension 6. Knit 6 rows. Cast off.

MAKING UP

Check ball band for pressing instructions. Join shoulder cables to top of front and back. Join shoulders leaving 28 cm open at centre. Join cable for armholes to front and back between markers.Join side seams.
